Parts of Maine may have a white Christmas. Forecasters are watching a wid-week storm that could bring significant snowfall to areas of the state, with rain and mix elsewhere.

The National Weather Service is watching a storm Wednesday, that could bring snow to areas of the state. Forecasters say the chances of significant snowfall from the storm has increased over the past 24 hours. An area that stretches from Lincoln, northeast to the Canadian boarder, has the best chance of accumulating snow.

Hopes for a white Christmas may dashed for other areas of Maine. Coastal and inland areas of the state will likely see rain mixing with snow.

Forecasters add northern areas of the state will likely see gusty snow showers, snow squalls, and blowing snow Tuesday morning.

Christmas Day features the chance of light snow.
