Clifford B. Hannay, 68, president and founder of Clifford B. Hannay & Son, Inc., Westerlo, N. Y., manufacturers of hose reels for fire apparatus, died November 16. One of the original organizers and a life member of the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Department, he began his career in the automobile repair business and progressed into electrical engineering and contracting. During 1933 he became interested in a better way to handle the hose being used to deliver kerosene. From this idea his first hose reel was built and resulted in the founding of the company bearing his name.
