In order to ensure people are not identifiable from our incident round up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred  

Appliances from Ripon and Thirsk attended a combine harvester on fire that spread to an area of standing crop measuring 10sqm. The combine had been extinguishing by the farmer prior to arrival of crews using dry powder extinguishers. Fire crews extinguished the field using beaters and a hose reel jet. 

2 x appliances and a water bowser from Tadcaster along with a West Yorkshire (Garforth) appliance attended a baler on fire that spread to an area of stubble field measuring 100m x 250m. Crews worked with farmer to create a fire break and extinguished the fire using 3 hose reel jets, 1 main jet and beaters. 

York and Huntington were mobilsied to reports of a van fire. This was found to be a false alarm with smoke being cause by an engine oil fault. Crews gave advice to the vehicle owner. 

Thirsk attended a fire measuring 10m x 5m consisting of vegetation. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet and hand tools and dampened down the surrounding area. 

Selby extinguished a grass fire measuring 20m x 20m. Crews used 1 hose reel jet at this incident.

York extinguished a small unattended campfire left in a wooded area. Crews used backpack sprayers at this incident.

Acomb extinguished a tree on fire located on a sports field. Crews used 2 knapsack sprayers at this incident. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Easingwold were mobilsied to reports of a fire in a field. This was found to be controlled burning by the landowner. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet due to its close proximity to a number of nearby conifer trees. Crews gave advice to the landowner. 

An appliance from Malton were mobilsed to reports of a fire sighted at the side of a road. this was found to be a small cmapfire in the lay-by. Crews extinguished the fire using buckets of water and gave advice to members of the public. 

Malton assisted in extricating an unconscious male from a residential property into an awaiting ambulance. Crews lifted male on scoop stretcher and left in care of paramedics. 

Skipton were mobilsied to reports of a waste bin on fire in a childrens play area. Crews confirmed the fire had been extinguished by a member of the public prior to their arrival. Crews dampened down remaining hotspots using buckets of water. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service also attended automatic fire alarms in Harrogate and Richmond. These activations were all false alarms.
