Crews were on the scene for around 45 minutes and the incident is now being investigated, with officers believing the fire was started deliberately.

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At around 10pm firefighters were called to reports of a fire in Kinnock Park, Burtonwood, Warrington.

"On arrival crews discovered that the fire involved an abandoned caravan, which was well alight. No-one was inside the caravan.

"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus each used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which left the caravan completely destroyed.

"Once the fire looked to be out, firefighters used a thermal imaging camera to look for hotspots and monitor temperatures. They left the scene once they were satisfied that the caravan was safe.

"No-one was taken to hospital. Firefighters were in attendance for around 45 minutes. The fire is suspected to have been started deliberately."
