BREAKING: 20 Fire crews deal with huge blaze in Notts | West Bridgford Wire

Officers are currently assisting with a large-scale fire.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

‘With 20 fire engines on scene and two Aerial Ladder Platforms the fire on #HermitageLane, Mansfield is being brought under control.

‘4 main hose reel jets used and fire tackled from the outside due to collapsing parts of the building.’

Drivers are being asked to plan alternate routes as Hermitage Lane, Sutton Road End and Hamilton Way are currently closed.

Please keep windows and doors closed if in the local area.’

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire in Hermitage Lane, Mansfield, at around 3am this morning (Monday 28 March).

Police remain at the scene working with colleagues from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Drivers are being asked to plan alternate routes as Hermitage Lane, Sutton Road End and Hamilton Way are currently closed.

Chief Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We would please ask drivers and the public to stay away from the area while emergency services deal with this large-scale incident and to plan alternate routes while we have roads closed in the surrounding areas.

“Residents are advised to keep all doors and windows shut in the area, at this time there are no plans to evacuate any local residents.”
